PROSPECT, KY, November 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) Leftover Halloween candy is normally a temptation, an appetite-spoiler or an at-work giveaway. But on Nov. 5, it will be welcome at Ideal Dentistry, 9527 U.S. Hwy 42 in Prospect and on Nov 8 at the new Ideal Dentistry office in Louisville at 4010 DuPont Circle, Suite 469.
The Halloween candy collected at the "Sweet Swap" will be donated to Operation Gratitude to be sent overseas as a treat for the troops. Those donating candy will have the opportunity to write their own thank you to the soldiers who receive it. Attendees will also enjoy the famous Bubble Truck, delicious popcorn and a chance to win prizes.
"We wanted to do something nice for our soldiers overseas and for people with too much candy," said Dr. Christian Hahn, who practices cosmetic and advanced restorative dentistry. "Instead of throwing out that candy, families can use it to thank a soldier by bringing it to the Sweet Swap."
Everyone bringing candy to the swap will also be entered in a drawing to win free movie passes for a year or a Nook Color or a take-home teeth-whitening kit.
The Bubble Truck is a modified Dodge Ram with an assortment of colorful ornaments which create thousands of bubbles, will also be there. Children can create their own bubbles with wands, operate the truck's bubble-makers and play in the "Bubble Wall."
Every participant will also get a discount certificate for dental services. Existing patients will save $25 on teeth cleaning service and new patients will save $75.
It might sound like an unusual combination, but Hahn said that Halloween candy and your dentist go together perfectly at the Sweet Swap. "Children love Halloween candy, but it's a real treat for our overseas troops who may want a taste of home," he said.
"The Sweet Swap allows children to donate something that will be appreciated, enjoy the Bubble Truck and maybe even win a Nook, movies tickets for a year. Parents will enjoy some discounts on dental services as well. It's going to be fun," said Dr. Hahn.
The Sweet Swap runs from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Ideal Dentistry in Prospect and 4 pm to 8 pm at Ideal Dentistry's DuPont Circle location.

Customer Service Techniques: Convenience Has Trained Us to Expect Too Little
2012-11-02
Sadly, in today's e-commerce climate, we have come to expect very little as consumers. While the amount of effort we put into that "hard-earned dollar" is the same, the amount of appreciation of where we spend it has been greatly devalued. It is easy to understand how this happened: the ability and convenience to shop a million stores--all at a mouse click, combined with our attention being grabbed and thrown from paid advertisements to pop-ups. We get that. What is not easy to understand is how, as a society, we have come to accept it.
The term 'customer ...
