BALTIMORE, MD, November 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) After 6 Media LLC., a Maryland based public relations and promotions agency is pleased to announce author and motivational speaker, Erica C. Austin, to its client roster.
Ms. Erica Austin was the youngest to author and publish her book at the age of nine. Through much learning and maturation Austin has decided to rebirth her Trumpet Award-winning book, "What Every Child Should Know About Prayer: From a Child's Point of View."
According to Austin, "A lot of my personal inspiration for making a positive difference in the community comes from my father, who raised me as a single-parent in Atlanta, Georgia. During my upbringing, my father would emphasize the importance of identifying my passion and purpose and striving to create a legacy that would have a positive impact on society. It was during these conversations and personal reflections that I discovered my passion for writing and inspiring today's youth."
In 2003 Austin launched the Youth on the Move Achievers Book Club, which introduces youth to an alternative, positive side of today's Hip Hop culture. Awards and accolades include the NAACP ACT-SO Award, honors from the National Council of Negro Women's Ecumenical Hall of Fame, participation on the panel for the 1999 Meet the Authors Turner Broadcasting Trumpet Awards, and a place as the featured author at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 2010 Literary Expo held in Washington, DC. Austin is an Annenberg Honors Program Fellow, member of Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society and the National Association of Professional Women.
She is a graduate of Howard University's John H. Johnson School of Communications and earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree with Summa Cum Laude distinction.
"After 6 Media is pleased to handle Ms. Austin's public relations and marketing needs. Erica demonstrates an extreme passion and drive for empowering youth and preparing them with the necessary tools needed to become leaders in today's world. Because of her professionalism, strong faith and hunger it is without a doubt Ms. Austin will have a major impact on generations to come," says founder and CEO Guernica D. Williams.
