Essential Enterprise Solutions, Inc. Introduces Cloud-based Solution for Medical Imaging Practices

New solution leverages the Cloud to make DICOM image storage and regulatory compliance easier and more affordable.

2012-11-14
TARPON SPRINGS, FL, November 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) Essential Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (EESi), a medical imaging and DICOM storage solution provider, today announced the launch of a cloud-based imaging solution designed to help medical practices of all sizes securely access and store DICOM imaging studies. Powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the EESi Imaging Cloud Solution gives physicians instant, on-premises access to current studies plus automatic transmission and synchronization of all studies to the cloud for back-up, archival and recovery.

As part of this solution EESi has developed two new products, the Imaging Cloud Connector and the Imaging Cloud Gateway. These devices support connectivity to the AWS cloud, as well as automatic image compression and encryption for storage in the cloud. As of this month, the Cloud Connector is available on all new EESiPACS Archive servers. Clients who do not have the Cloud Connector installed on their EESiPACS Archive Server, or those who are utilizing a third-party PACS solution, will need to utilize the Cloud Gateway as part of their Imaging Cloud Solution.

"Many of the physicians we speak with are concerned about the cost and complexity of owning and managing additional equipment to store DICOM images in compliance with regulatory requirements," said Phil Madison, president of EESi. "Our new Cloud solution addresses these concerns by leveraging the power and economies of scale associated with the cloud to give physicians an affordable DICOM image storage solution with enterprise-level reliability, scalability and security."

The EESi Imaging Cloud Solution, which is available immediately, does not require any long-term contract commitments and utilizes a simple pay-for-what-you-use pricing structure. Clients retain complete ownership of their imaging files and can move them from the cloud onto a removable data source at any time. EESi will be offering hands-on demonstrations of the new Imaging Cloud Solutions in the White Mountain Imaging Booth (#3832 South Building) at the 2012 RSNA Conference in Chicago, November 25th - 30th.
