RALEIGH, NC, November 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Carolina Designer Craftsmen Guild (http://www.carolinadesignercraftsmen.com/) has announced that it will host a Gala Preview Party on Friday, Nov. 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the N.C. State Fairgrounds at 1025 Blue Ridge Road. The event is open to "Friends of the Guild" supporters to thank them for their special donations and continued support for promoting fine craft education and helping to preserve one of the region's best fine craft and design shows. The gala will provide "Friends of the Guild" patrons with exclusive access to purchase or win artwork featured at the Fine Designer Craftsmen Show, which will open to the general public after the preview party ends at 6 p.m. on Nov. 23.
The event will be catered by Sono, a premiere Japanese restaurant in downtown Raleigh, and will include a VIP raffle. Thirty five pieces of artwork donated by exhibitors and guild artists valued at more than $10,000 will be raffled off to attendees. Work valued at more than $500 per piece has been donated for the raffle by the following premiere artists: Michael Brown, Dory Brown, Christine and Louis Colombarini, Marina Bosetti, Jody Ochs, Addison and Eric Paige, and Sandra McEwen. Premier Guild artists Michael Kane, Darcy Szeremi, Adam Crowell, Marti Mocahbee, Phillip Nolley, Jim Whalen, Adam Crowell, Kathleen Master, Elizabeth Lyne and Sasha Bakaric all donated artwork valued at $299 or more. Several other artists' work will also be included in the 2012 VIP raffle. Members can still donate or become a "Friend of the Guild" for the opportunity to attend the premier gala celebration.
