CAPSALIS NAMED BIC NATURAL & ORGANIC PROGRAM MANAGER

Maturing Market Requires More Strategic Approach

2010-10-14
BOULDER, CO, October 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) The Boulder Innovation Center (BIC) has named industry leader Bill Capsalis Program Manager of its Natural & Organic Program.

"Bill is one of the most experienced professionals in the natural products industry'" said BIC Executive Director Tim Bour. "Bill will build on the past success of the program and evolve our Natural & Organic Program to match the needs within the local business community. We want to support the next generation of passionate, motivated entrepreneurs."

"There are easily 100 natural and organic start-ups in the Boulder area," said Capsalis. "Our revamped program will be designed to strategically address the challenges these young companies face as they enter into a market with complex supply and distribution channels. Former Program Manager Lisa Bell built a phenomenal foundation that we'll leverage to get these companies to the next level. We've got over 160 advisors ready to help, and we'll be reaching out to the entire business community for support."

Capsalis has 26 years of corporate marketing, consulting and speaking experience, having served in vice president roles for GAIAM (NASDAQ: GAIA) and Kinko's before his most recent position as director for the Fresh Ideas Group, one of the nation's preeminent Natural & Organic public relations agencies.

With aging baby boomers now consumed with their own health issues, the Natural & Organic industry is entering the mainstream, where a mass consumer market is clamoring for healthy choices in almost all food, beverage and supplement purchases.

"Boulder and its long history of industry leaders like Horizon, White Wave and Celestial Seasonings makes it the perfect place to create and grow the grass-roots innovations of the future," said Capsalis. "The BIC is here to help with the strategic approach necessary for success in today's complex marketplace."
