GAILLARD, FRANCE, November 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) The French cycling company Cyclomundo has announced packages around some cycling events that will be taking place next year in the French Alps. These events include the 2013 Etape du Tour, the Marmotte, France's most famous Gran Fondo races as well as regularly scheduled events like the Geneva to Alpe d'Huez. Cyclomundo provides exciting travel packages for these events and caters to visitors with different levels of cycling expertise. Most notably, 2013 marks the 100th year anniversary of Le Tour de France, which will highlight cycling in the Alps. For the first time in 10 years, the race will take place entirely in France. Viewers will have the opportunity to visit various UNESCO World Heritage sites along the way. The mythic 21-hairpin climb to Alpe d'Huez will be climbed twice during the race's 2013 edition.
Additionally, the 2013 Etape du Tour will take place on July 7th, 2013 in Annecy, which is often called the "Venice of the Alps." This race is organized by the ASO, which is the parent company of Le Tour de France. The Etape du Tour allows amateur cyclists to cycle on routes from the Tour. Participants come from all regions of the world to try their hand at cycling in this region. This scenic race offers cyclists many ascents and finishes at the top of Semnoz.
Another established event that is taking place in 2013 is the Marmotte Gran Fondo. This 174 km race is scheduled to start from the village of Bourg d'Oisans and finish in Alpe d'Huez. Thousands of cyclists participate in this annual event.
