BIRMINGHAM, AL, November 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) World of Beer (WOB) plans to open their doors at the Five Points South Historic Entertainment District in Birmingham on Tuesday, November 20th. This will be the 33rd location for the thriving beer-centric establishment that boasts more than 500 different, ever-changing bottles and 50 rotating taps from around the world.
"We provide an unsurpassed total patron experience focused on quality, delivery and education," said Amir Shah, WOB Five Points President, 8-year Birmingham resident, and longtime beer enthusiast. "This all being precisely as the brewers intended!"
World of Beer Five Points, located at 1005 20th Street S, will serve craft and import beers and stock more than 500 different bottles of beer from around the world, as well as local breweries including Good People Brewery, Blue Pants, Straight to Ale, Back Forty, Cahaba Brewing Company, Beer Engineer, and Yellow Hammer.
WOB Five Points is the first of its kind in Alabama. The Five Points South Historic Entertainment District location will attract a large crowd, as it is one of the city's hotspots for shopping, restaurants and nightlife establishments. Following the first week of operation, there will be a ribbon-cutting celebration on November 30th with Mayor William Bell.
"I fell in love with WOB Culture in 2009 at the original Westchase location", said Shah. "It immediately caught my eye and I have been attracted to the atmosphere and positive energy in each and every WOB I have been in."
WOB Five Points has planned ongoing promotions and entertainment, which can be viewed at http://www.wobusa.com/fivepoints. With a focus solely on craft beer, WOB Five Points will serve food from local restaurants including Cosmo's, SekiSui, Pacific Rim Sushi, Makario's, Wings Around the Clock, Metro Prime Steakhouse, Fuego, Jimmy Johns Sandwiches, and Pop's Neighborhood Grille.
The 'WOB Culture' is different than any other. Every WOB staff member must attend a 14-day 'beer school' where they learn everything about beer. Employees are tested and required to pass with at least a 90 percent score to begin work at World of Beer.
WOB rewards its customers by offering a 'Loyalty Club Program' that enables them to earn points on the different brews they try. Customers earn one point for every different beer purchased at WOB, gaining them access, appreciation and rewards. The program is available to all patrons.
WOB was founded in Tampa, FL in 2007. Now, just five years later, they have just launched their 33rd location in Birmingham, AL. The soon-to-be household name is currently open in 10 states (FL, VA, TX, WI, OH, IL, NC, GA, AZ and SC). The locations to soon follow are: Evanston, IL, Kendall, FL, Cleveland, OH and Dallas, TX.
