Foresters UK Brightens Up Christmas for Local Underprivileged Children

"We want to encourage as many people as possible to donate to this fantastic campaign, and if you are not in a position to do that, 'Like' Foresters UK on Facebook and we'll donate GBP5 on your behalf!"

2012-11-22
KENT, ENGLAND, November 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Christmas is a happy time for most people, but sadly not for many underprivileged children.

It's hard to believe but every year there are still many children in the UK who receive nothing for Christmas. Foresters UK, the international financial services organisation, is very proud to be working with Bauer Radio's Cash For Kids Christmas Toy Appeal 2012 as part of their Mission Christmas 2012 initiative.

Foresters UK is committed to hands-on help through our members. Cash For Kids have highlighted that there is always a shortage of presents donated for babies, so as well as offering financial support, caring Foresters members are volunteering in helping create gift packs for these underprivileged babies at family focused events taking place across the UK.

- Last year over 800 Foresters Members in the UK created 2,100 baby parcels
- Our work with Cash for Kids in their 2011 Christmas Toy Appeal helped 215,000 children to have a better Christmas
- It also raised GBP5.1 million and 600,000 toys and gifts were delivered to needy children.

This year we hope to help even more children!

Alexis Bovington, Membership Development Manager at Foresters, said "Foresters champions the well-being of families and children, and we are proud to be involved with Cash for Kids' Mission Christmas. As well as offering financial support to the Appeal, with the help of our members, we are putting together Christmas gift packs for disadvantaged babies, across the whole of the UK, who would otherwise wake up to nothing on Christmas morning.

"We want to encourage as many people as possible to donate to this fantastic campaign, and if you are not in a position to do that, 'Like' Foresters UK on Facebook and we'll donate GBP5 on your behalf!"

Dawn Gibson, Marketing Director, Bauer Radio's Cash for Kids adds: "This year Christmas is going to be a lot tougher for many families across the UK, which is why we are appealing to people to make a donation however small to our appeal or to donate an extra toy for an underprivileged child and we'll make sure it gets to them in time for Christmas.

"With the support of companies like Foresters we are doing our best to ensure that we can bring a little bit of festive cheer into the lives of less privileged children."

To coincide with their support Foresters UK will be donating GBP5.00* for every NEW Like they receive on their ForestersUK Facebook page. Members of the public can now do their bit to help make a magical Christmas for less fortunate children by clicking on the "Like" button at the top of the ForestersUK Facebook page here:

New research conducted by the laboratory of Aravi Samuel in the Harvard Physics Department and the Center for Brain Sciences, however, is uncovering surprising sophistication in the individual neurons ...
