Celebrate the Season at Polar Ice House This Winter

Ice rink hosts holiday skating and hockey camps following a party with Santa

2012-11-22
RALEIGH, NC, November 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Join Polar Ice House in celebrating the season all winter long, beginning with the opportunity to skate with Santa Claus on Friday, November 23, 2012, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Bring your friends and family for this rockin' holiday skate party to get in the holiday spirit!

At the beginning of this family-friendly holiday party, meet at center rink for a free skating lesson from 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. Admission, including skate rental, is $8 for the event. Don't miss the opportunity to skate around the rink with Santa and your friends to kick off the joyful season this Friday!

Polar Ice House also invites children to several holiday instructional camps at the rink this season to teach them how to skate into the New Year. Whether your children are interested in learning to skate or learning the game of hockey, Polar Ice House is here to teach them the fundamentals.

"Right after Christmas we're excited to offer two holiday camps," said Kathi Singleton, Polar Ice House Grapevine's General Manager. "One of our holiday camps teaches children how to ice skate and the other teaches the fundamentals of hockey."

Both camps will be held on December 26 to 28, 2012, and January 2 to 4, 2013. On those days, the skating instructional camp called "It's Great to Skate" will be held from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. and the hockey camp called "Learn the Game" will be held from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

These fun holiday camps include three group instructional classes, three public skate sessions, and three skate rentals - a great deal that includes the necessities. In fact, hockey equipment is available with a refundable deposit. The price for the camps also includes four free public skate sessions for use any time before February 1. The "It's Great to Skate" skating camp costs $122 and the "Learn the Game" hockey camp costs $170.

"Since our camps are offered right after Christmas, they make the perfect holiday gift for children," added Singleton. "Give them the opportunity to get moving and to learn a new activity this holiday season!"
