Nearly 800,000 children under 18 are reported missing every year. Three out of four parents have lost a child at one time or another. And, studies show that most children when found don't have their parent's current or accurate contact information.

"The process of putting the B-Safe ID bands and bracelets on children will give parents the opportunity to educate their kids about how to reach them," Coiffman said. "Kids will still get lost, but by wearing the bands and having the conversation with their parents, more kids will have the information they need to give the authorities if there's an emergency."

The Miami-based B-Safe ID manufactures its security bands in the United States, and plans to sell them in stores across the country. Currently, the bands and bracelets are available online. The company donates a percentage of its sales to Chai Lifeline, a nonprofit that supports children diagnosed with life-threatening or lifelong illnesses.
