NORTHPORT, NY, November 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Secure Decisions Division of Applied Visions and developer of MeerCAT , a visualization toolkit for wireless network security, has been selected as a finalist in the Government Security News (GSN) 2012 Homeland Security Awards Competition in the category of "Best Intrusion Detection/Prevention Solution".

The GSN Homeland Security Awards Competition honors the partnership between all branches of the federal, state and local and the private sector vendors of IT security and physical security products, solutions and technologies, whose combined efforts successfully defend and protect the nation's people, property, and way of life.

The finalists and winners were selected by a panel of objective judges, according to Jacob Goodwin, Editor-in-Chief of Government Security News. "We received an extraordinary number of entries," Goodwin said. "We have carefully reviewed each entry and are now very pleased to announce an exceptionally strong field of finalists." All winners will be announced at a gala dinner hosted by GSN at the Washington, DC Convention Center on Thursday evening, November 29, 2012.
