Eskander Takes on the Bart Factor

The Bart Cummings Factor for the 2010 Spring Racing Carnival.

2010-10-15
MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, October 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) Australian racing legend Bart Cummings has a very healthy list of runners lined up for Melbourne's big spring "majors" and Betstar's Alan Eskander is giving punters the chance to back their opinion on how many trophies out of the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup Bart will add to his overflowing trophy cabinet.

In Betstar's 'Bart's Big Three' market punters can bet on whether they think Bart will win none, one, two or three of the Spring majors.

Cummings currently has two of the first six horses in the betting for the Caulfield Cup Dariana ($9), and Faint Perfume ($11) and So You Think who is the current favourite for both the Cox Plate and the Melbourne Cup at $1.70 and $6 respectively. The man dubbed the Cups King has a tidy support card in the Melbourne Cup with Dariana and Faint Perfume at $17 and Precedence at $21, all very much in the mix.

"In 2009 Bart took out the Caulfield Cup with Viewed and surprised us all when So You Think took out the Cox Plate, it could be argued that he has a stronger hand in the 2010 Spring Racing Carnival, but I am prepared to take the legendary trainer on," said Betstar's Alan Eskander

"Last Spring, Bart proved to us that his genius is not waning with age and while he looks to have the Cox Plate in the bag there is too much quality heading towards the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups for me to think he could pull off the hat trick."

"It's hard to see So You Think getting beat in the Cox Plate so we've got 1 Win Only as the favourite at $2.25 and are offering $10 for Bart to win the big three, bookies aren't in business to lose, but if Bart got up and won them all, I'd be cheering him on with the rest of Australia," said Eskander.
