Stop Second Guessing yourself on your Ability to help your Child Become a Better Reader!

Learn how you can help increase your child's reading level through reading with your child. The language that is used in schools and the language parents use are different. This article will guide you in getting your child to figure out words.

2012-12-10
SUSSEX, WI, December 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) The first bit of advice that a parent will receive from the school system if a child is struggling with reading is that the child needs a tutor. Parents have been listening to this advice for so long that they actually believe it.

Stop listening to those that say you can't be helpful and take on the 31 day reading challenge for yourself. All you need to do is read every day for 31 days with your child. If you are looking for tips each day, then there is a new book that was just released called 31 Days to Become a Better Reader: Increasing your Struggling Reader's Reading Level by Joanne Kaminski. About the tools in this book Mandy McCumber said, "Joanne engaged me in the learning process as well."

Are you one of those parents that tell their child to sound out the word to figure it out? Here is a better tip. Have your child finish the sentence and then ask her to try again. Most of the time, your child will be able to figure out the word without any other guidance. According to Mandy, "Joanne has some reading tricks that gave my daughter the tools to figure out words by herself, which I believe has set my daughter up for an amazing educational future."

Do you want to know what makes reading experts effective with struggling readers? The good ones actually use words that will guide the child in figuring out the word for herself. Here is a list of the most typical things that a reading expert will say when a child is struggling with a word.

1. Keep reading
2. Try again
3. Does that look right?
4. Does that sound right?
5. Does that make sense?

Joanne Kaminski, author of 31 Days to Become a Better Reader says, "Reading experts very rarely tell students to sound it out. Yet, this is the strategy that most parents resort to. No wonder why kids become frustrated and resistant." No longer will you have to fight this resistance. Make a commitment to yourself and your child to read every day for 31 days. The more consistent you are, the more successful you will be.

To some this might sound too good to be true, but it is not. It is possible and you now have the power to make it all a reality. No longer does your child have to struggle with reading. That means that reading and all of the other subject areas can be easier than they have ever been before. Get the book and empower yourself with the secrets that will unlock your child's ultimate reading potential. You will be guided in how to include choice in book selection, proper ways to help your child with reading words, grow your child's vocabulary naturally, and increase overall comprehension. The best part is you won't have to invest thousands of dollars into tutoring services for your child. You have the power to guide your child through her reading success with confidence.

The Skyping Reading Tutor, Joanne Kaminski, teaches children to read via skype. She is able to close the gap a full year with just 8-12 hours of reading instruction. for more information contact Joanne at 414-732-6838.
