MILLINGTON, TN, December 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) Unistar-Sparco Computers, Inc. is proud to be among the seven businesses within the 8(a) socioeconomic category who were awarded a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) FirstSource II contract. Under contract number HSHQDC-12-D-00018, the firm's period of performance is September 28, 2012 through September 27, 2019 which includes a five (5) year base period with two (2) one (1)-year option periods.

FirstSource II is a DHS-wide, multiple award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle that is mandatory-for-consideration by all DHS components. The total contract value is $3 billion to be shared among all contract holders throughout the entire contract period. Competition for this contract was set aside to small businesses under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 541519, Other Computer Related Services, with a size standard of 150 employees.
The scope of the contract encompasses a full array of value-added reseller (VAR) services for Information Technology (IT) commodities and solutions such as configuration consulting and design, systems integration, installation of multi-vendor equipment, customization of hardware or software, training, product technical support, product maintenance, and end-user support. FirstSource II customers can also obtain commercially available IT products, including small form factor devices, static devices, domain devices, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) devices, and peripheral devices.
