J. Martinez & Co. Fine Coffees Discusses Why Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Is So Good

J. Martinez & Company fine coffees would like to discuss what exactly it is that makes Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee so incredibly good.

2012-12-13
NORCROSS, GA, December 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) J. Martinez & Company fine coffees would like to discuss what the whole coffee world has has wondered since coffee was cultivated and exported from the Caribbean: what exactly it is that makes Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee so incredibly good.

Perhaps the best way to sum up the source of the undeniable goodness of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is its terroir. Terroir, though most often used to describe wine, refers to all of the factors that surround the production of the plants that yield the gourmet treats that we love. For Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee, this comes down to the incredibly unique growing environment of the higher altitudes of the Jamaican Blue Mountains.

The only true Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee grows at altitudes between 3,000 and 5,500 feet. The altitudes above this are preserved forestlands, where farming is banned, and the lower altitudes are simply not as ideal for coffee growing. In the higher, lush, perfect for coffee growing slopes, what happens is truly amazing. The land is overflowing with greenery, with a climate that is almost constantly cool and misty. The result is coffee beans that brew a beverage almost completely lacking the bitterness that is so common in many coffee varieties. It is mild, smooth, and yet still powerfully complex.

"I consider all of our estate coffee truly exceptional, but the Jamaican Blue coffees we sell from Wallenford Estate, Clifton Mount Estate and RSW Estates are simply in a class of their own," explains John Martinez, owner of J. Martinez & Company. "They have my highest recommendation of all of our varieties."

When you try Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee for yourself, be cautious to avoid imitations and "blends" (which only contain a miniscule amount of the real stuff). At J. Martinez & Company, you will always get a variety grown on a single estate that is certified authentic and of the highest grade. And you can be sure that you taste it at its freshest and best, as all orders are roasted only just before they are shipped to you.
