RALEIGH, NC, December 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) The final numbers are in for the 11th Annual Big Bad Ball, a black tie gala that is held at the Capital City Club in Downtown Raleigh and benefits Hospice of Wake County.
Hundreds of guests gathered at the 11th Annual Big Bad Ball, on September 29, 2012, and over $50,000 cash was raised for Hospice of Wake County's Benevolent Care Program and Horizons Grief Center. Also, there was nearly $50,000 of in-kind donations. The funds raised will allow Hospice to maintain a benevolent care fund, from which the cost of extending care to patients without means can be covered.
Hospice of Wake County extends assistance beyond Wake by serving Durham, Johnston, Harnett, and Franklin Counties. Over $1,000,000 has been raised through this event since 2001.
The guests enjoyed A Sophisticated Soiree at this year's Big Bad Ball. They were able to indulge in sensational food, five open bars and great music. Anthony Ferranti won the 50/50 raffle and there was Norman Silverman jewelry donated by Fink's Jewelers as door prizes.
Many guests walked away with silent auction items such as books, gift baskets, gift certificates and jewelry. Over 115 silent auction items were purchased which was also a great fund raising success.
