LITTLE FALLS, MN, December 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC) has worked hard this year with Golden Shovel Agency to improve their online presence - and they are now reaping the benefits of their labor. Every year, the Mid-America Economic Development Council (MAEDC) hosts a conference where they recognize the top leaders in Economic Development in the midwest.
Earlier this year, GFDC sent in their nomination for the 'Online Marketing' category showcasing their website - http://www.fremontecodev.org. They also entered the 'Community Promotion and Marketing' category concentrating on their Fremont Technology Park Marketing Program. After months of reviewing proposals from economic developers from around the midwest, GFDC was announced as a finalist in both categories.
The "Best in the Midwest" conference was held December 2-4 in Chicago, IL. One of the main events of this conference is the Awards Luncheon where the winners of the 7 pre-selected categories are announced. Greater Fremont Development Council placed in both of the categories that they entered. They placed 1st in the "Community Promotion and Marketing" category and 2nd in the "Online Marketing" category.
Doug Heim, the Economic Development Manager for the Greater Fremont Development Council was happy with the placement and looks towards the future.
"The entry receiving first place focused on the Fremont Technology Park Marketing campaign is most certainly a timely development for GFDC and the City of Fremont. There are no signs of a slowdown in the demand for data center projects and the exposure this recognition gives is an important step in marketing this master-planned, shovel-ready site." said Heim.
Barb Pierce, Business Development Coordinator for GFDC was there to accept the award and recognition in person.
"I am excited for the exposure that the greater Fremont area will receive as a result of being named in the 'Best of the Midwest' MAEDC awards." states Pierce. "Our new website provides a place for prospects and existing businesses of Fremont to locate meaningful resources, including local and state programs, maps, sites & buildings and workforce information. The goal of our social media campaign involving Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter is to consistently drive more audience to our website and create awareness of Fremont as a progressive, welcoming community to live, work and play in."
MAEDC award winners will be featured in the January edition of Site Selection Magazine. This opportunity opens the door for Fremont and Dodge county information to be easily accessible to the economic development audience. To learn more about the MAEDC Conference, go to http://www.maedc.net.
