AsiaRooms.com - Get Blown Away by Gold Coast's Kirra Kite Festival

Kirra Beach on the Gold Coast will host a kite festival midway through November 2010.

2010-10-17
GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA, October 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) The first ever Kirra Kite Festival will take place on the Gold Coast next month, with a packed programme planned to celebrate the inaugural occasion.

Kirra Beach, a short drive down the Gold Coast Highway from most Surfers Paradise hotels, will get underway with an evening prelude on Saturday November 20th 2010.

This teaser for the main event will include live music, while shopaholics and adrenaline junkies will be kept entertained with a market and night skydiving display.

Then on Sunday November 21st, the organisers have planned a day of activities that are intended to showcase the region's unique assets and cultural diversity.

Furthermore, the organisers have promised visitors who step out from the cheap accommodation Gold Coast has available to explore the festival will be treated to an "interactive experience through multicultural arts, music, international cuisine and wind sports".

A wide array of events are planned for the Sunday, with items on the bill including camel rides, sand sculpture, pyrotechnic sky diving and - as the festival's name suggests - kite flying.

Proceedings on the Saturday evening will kick off at 17:00 local time and end at 21:00, while the final day is set to run between 10:00 and 18:00.

Despite the range of entertainment on offer, admission is completely free.

For more information on this event, visit the Kirra Kite Festival website.

2010-10-17
Beyond the aesthetic benefits, Botox has recently been approved for the prevention of chronic migraines. This news comes after a trial of more than 1,300 patients showed that Botox dramatically helps in reducing the frequency of headaches. Lee Tomkins, the Director of Migraine Action, stresses that Botox is not a "cure" but he goes on to say, "if they (migraine sufferers) get half the attacks, it can really improve their quality of life." Botox is becoming more and more popular every year with both men and women. Botox in Wilmslow and Botox in Cheshire are also very ...

Proposed FAA Regulations: Another Day, Another Hour

2010-10-17
In February 2009, Colgan Air flight 3407 crashed into a Buffalo, New York home, killing all 49 people on board and one person on the ground. According to ABC, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) ruled that pilot error was a chief cause of the crash; pilot fatigue was an issue, according to one investigation into the crash. Pilot Fatigue Pilots are currently required to have eight hours of rest between work days, meaning they can work up to 16 hours in a day. ABC News says that pilots have complained for years that eight hours of rest is insufficient. As ...

The Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 2010

Koua Fong Lee spent three years in prison after he was convicted of vehicular homicide. According to Minnesota Public Radio, in 2006 Lee's vehicle hit three other cars stopped at a red light, killing three people. As Lee's position had always been that he tried to brake but that his 1996 Toyota Camry suddenly accelerated, Judge Joanne Smith granted Lee a new trial after hearing testimony from other Camry owners of similar experiences and other evidence. Prosecutors have announced that they will not seek a new trial. While Lee's story may be unique, the injuries and fatalities ...

What Is a Medicare Set-Aside? A Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) or Medicare ...

Missouri School Bus Crash Restarts Seat Belt Debate

2010-10-17
The state of Missouri has more than 12,000 school buses to transport over a half-million schoolchildren every day. The recent deadly school bus crash in Franklin County prompted parents across the state to ask why every child on every Missouri school bus isn't protected by a seat belt. The early August crash near Gray Summit killed two, including a 15-year-old high school student on her way with classmates to the nearby Six Flags theme park. CBS News reported that the wreck apparently began when a pick-up truck rear-ended a semi-truck that slowed to enter a road construction ...

A Primer on California Motorcycle Safety

2010-10-17
Even though autumn is upon us, it is never too late to think about motorcycle safety. Yes, more motorcycle riders are on the roads in the summertime, but with California's temperate climate, they can be seen any time of the year. It is important for both motorcyclists and passenger/commercial vehicle operators to be aware of the inherent dangers of sharing the road and for each to take steps to avoid accidents whenever possible. Safety Programs Are Having an Impact The year 2009 saw a marked decrease in the number of motorcyclist fatalities for the first time since ...
