NEW YORK, NY, December 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) Canadian industrial designer, Bruno, has spent his career focusing on design and aesthetics to enhance the usability of consumer goods. His groundbreaking usage of fiberglass in ship design revolutionized the industry and sparked the interest of notorieties, such as Jean Chretien and Farley Mowat. Bruno appreciated the impact of line and form on a product's success, however, unbeknownst to the world, he was applying these same principles to his own creative ventures, kept hidden from the public until now.
Bruno's years spent in industrial design have inspired a unique consumer conscious design sensibility. This is most evident when considering his ability to extract only the essential elements of form and rhythm from his potentially graphic subject matter, the female nude. His minimalist forms unfurl across planes of negative space, encouraging the viewer to engage with possibility. Simultaneously soothing and stirring, Bruno has created highly livable pieces, working to enhance their exhibition space.
Bruno's fluid mastery continues to influence, inspire, and most impressively, surprise the fields of art and design.
Bruno was born in Toronto and was formally trained as an industrial designer. He has won two National Industrial Design Awards and the Design and Engineering Award at the innovators Consumers Electronics Show for Parkside's Lenspen. Formally the Vice President of Design at Slung! and the Principal at his own award winning firm, Hewson Design and Associates, Bruno has turned his focus to fine art.
