EXTON, PA, December 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) BlueCielo ECM Solutions, a leading global software company offering Engineering Content Management (ECM) solutions, announced today that the Bureau of Reclamation has awarded the company with an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise, BlueCielo's electronic drawing repository and automated workflow solution. This contract is valued up to $35 million and will be available to all nine United States Department of the Interior bureaus.
Reclamation is the second largest producer of hydroelectric power in the western United States, with 53 power plants annually generating nearly a billion dollars in power revenues and producing enough electricity to serve more than 3.5 million homes. BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise will store and search a minimum of 100 million scientific, engineering, architectural, or other technical drawing records and files, including metadata and associated dependent information, to assist in maintaining operation of Reclamation's revenue-generating assets.
Reclamation has also awarded the initial task order against this contract for $2,234,254. BlueCielo will now begin work to convert several different drawing platforms into one uniform solution for Reclamation.
In an announcement of the contract award November 30, 2012, Reclamation Commissioner Michael L. Connor said, "Combining several different drawing solutions into one that uses the latest technology will provide a good platform to store and manage drawings and will offer a better value for taxpayers." He added, "In conjunction with Interior's IT Transformation effort, this project will elevate Reclamation's technology and the efficiency of how our business is conducted."
BlueCielo Meridian Enterprise supports Interior's strategic plan to transform its information technology operations for the 21st century. The plan identifies an initial set of high priority IT services as part of the transformation process, including a single email system for the department, telecommunications, account management, hosting services, workplace computing services, risk management and an enterprise service desk.
