SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, December 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) Mobile games are at their pinnacle. It is not hard to find somebody playing a mobile game on their smartphone in the subway. People of all ages, from children to the elderly, are playing mobile games.
It is predicted that a wider variety of game applications will be put forth given this boom in mobile games. The game Karma Drama belongs to just one such new and eye-catching game genre. Karma Drama is a text-based game where you read the story which unfolds in the manner of an e-book.
In the game, the gamer participates in decisions at points where the game character has to make some kind of decision. The game can therefore be thought of as a story-completion game which has different possible endings. The decisions made determine the behaviors that the characters take, which in turn generates many changing variables. The word 'karma' in the title comes from the Sanskrit word for 'fate', and refers to the many actions that people take while living their lives.
Screenwriter Youngmyeong Do has recently become famous thanks to Palace S and The Return of IlJiMae. His participation as an author in Karma Drama has drawn lots of attention. Mr. Do accepted the work of writing MiraclEngine's Karma Drama, which is planned to be released early next year. In connection with this, Jayu Choi (CEO, MiraclEngine), said, "Given the difficulty of having to construct many endings depending on the choices of the gamer, we chose Youngmyeong Do to carry out the hard task of completing a robust storyline."
MiraclEngine's Karma Drama is a game that achieves a tight coupling between textual, graphic and sound elements. The game is expected to increase the degree of immersion by using actual pictures, sounds, and auditory effects to accompany the story.
The multi-story, multi-ending adventure game that is Karma Drama is set to be launched next month in 2013. The game application will be available for download from both smart phone application markets the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android phone).
