Everyone's a winner at the Tourism Media Award -The Golden City Gate: Destinations and tourism companies will profit from a good placement with a significant increase of publicity. But also participants who didn't achieve a high placement as well as the audience will profit from the award: The award sets new standards which can be used as a benchmark for all new media activities. So, the Tourism Media Award - The Golden City Gate stimulates the steady increase in quality standards of marketing activities in the tourism sector.
The Tourism Media Award - The Golden City Gate is the only competition in the tourism industry, which awards multimedia contributions on an international level - including movies, commercials, websites, print and online campaigns as well as road shows. To raise even more awareness on an international level, the new prefix Tourism Media Award was added. The awardees are the destinations and tourism companies, not their assigned filmmakers or advertising agencies. The competition has been setting new standards in tourism marketing for already more than 10 years. Since the first awards ceremony of the Golden City Gate in 2001, more than 800 contributions from around the world were evaluated by the jury, which consists of 50 independent experts of the tourism, film and marketing industry every year. The close partnership with the ITB emphasizes the high relevance of the award: BBC, CNN and Deutsche Welle are reporting regularly from the award ceremony of the Golden City Gate at the ITB.
