RALEIGH, NC, December 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) Sepi Asefnia, president of SEPI Engineering & Construction (http://www.sepiengineering.com), a firm which provides civil engineering and planning services to private and public sector clients across the Southeast, has announced the addition of Kim Hamlin as environmental project scientist. In her position, Hamlin works in the environmental division of the Raleigh office.
Hamlin grew up in Pinch, W. Va., a small town a few miles northeast of Charleston. She received her associate degree in environmental science technology from Wake Technical Community College, bachelor's degree in biological sciences from NC State University, and in 2011, a master's in natural resources, also from NC State. Hamlin became interested in restoration while in graduate school writing a thesis focused on assessing instream structures in stream restorations that were past their 5 year required monitoring period. She is currently enrolled in the N.C. Environmental Educator Certification program, where part of the criteria for certification includes 30 hours of teaching environmental education programs for various audiences. Additionally, Hamlin is a member of the National Forestry Honor Society Xi Sigma Pi. She resides in Raleigh with her husband, two cats and one dog.
