Evan Guthrie Law Firm Talks As Lawyer For Bishop England High School Career Day In Charleston, SC

CHARLESTON, SC, January 01, 2013 (Press-News.org) Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina participated in the Bishop England High School Career Day on Daniel Island In Charleston, SC on Wednesday October 24th 2012. Evan Guthrie was the lawyer for the event for the second year in a row. Attorney Guthrie spoke to three different sessions of students for around twenty minutes each. The students rotated classrooms, but Mr. Guthrie remained in the same room through all of the sessions. The students at Bishop England each chose careers that interested them and were assigned to sessions based on their interests. Each session was filled with students that had some interest in becoming a lawyer. Attorney Evan Guthrie discussed a wide range of topics including exactly what steps the students needed to do to become lawyers, what the students could do while they were still in high school to prepare themselves for college and law school, what college was like and things to look for in college to get ready, the Law School Admissions Test and what the test entails and how it is uses, what law school is like and how the classes work, what the bar exam is like and what is on it, what happens from day to day in a lawyer's life, the different types of law and how they differ, how much a lawyer gets compensated, and the best parts about practicing law.

There was not too much times for questions from the students because of the short sessions, but questions from students ranged from how a lawyer gets paid to the most difficult parts about being a lawyer. Attorney Guthrie enjoyed returning to the school for career day for a second time and representing the legal profession in a positive manner to prospective future lawyers in South Carolina. Mr. Guthrie felt honored to be invited back to speak on behalf of his profession at his former high school at a platform that helped inspire him to become an attorney. Attorney Guthrie looks forward to being able to speak at the Bishop England High School career day in future years.
