FRESNO, CA, January 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Yosemite/Mariposa County Tourism Bureau (YMCTB) invites travelers to Mariposa County and Yosemite National Park to enter its 2012 Yosemite FunFoto Contest. The rules are simple:
• Travel to Mariposa County along one of the following highways:
o Highway 120 from Stockton/Manteca
o Highway 132 from Modesto
o Highway 140 from Merced
o Highway 49 from Sonora
o Highway 41 from Fresno
• Once inside Mariposa County, take your best shot: It can be scenery, people, historical landmarks or anything showing the fun and experience of visiting Mariposa County, but it must be taken along one of the five state highways. Participants are not required to travel into Yosemite Park (but you'll miss a great trip if you don't). Make a brief note to explain where the photo was captured, or include the route in a photo caption. Entrants must include the route taken with an entry to be considered in the contest.
• Complete the "Enter to Win Form" available at http://www.yosemiteexperience.com/FunFoto, then upload the photo in a .jpg format.
• There will be one winner chosen from entries along each state highway and one Grand Prize Winner. The contest ends January 31, 2013 and winners will be selected in February 2013.
Each prize winner will receive: 1) accommodations for 2 persons for 2 nights (subject to availability) at one of the following options: any hotel/motel, vacation rental home, lodge, bed and breakfast or inn of your choosing (along the highway you took your photo only); 2) Two tickets to Yosemite Zipline Adventures in Mariposa CA; 3) entrance into Yosemite National Park; 4) "Adventure Package" for 2 to the Yosemite Conservancy. Prizes must be booked by the winners within 30 days of notification and trips will be valid until March 31, 2013.
The Grand Prize Winner will receive: 1) accommodations for 2 persons for 2 nights (subject to availability) at one of the following options: any hotel/motel, vacation rental home, lodge, bed and breakfast or inn of your choosing (anywhere in Mariposa County or Yosemite); 2) Two tickets to Yosemite Zipline Adventures in Mariposa CA; 3) entrance into Yosemite National Park; 4) "Adventure Package" for 2 to the Yosemite Conservancy. Prizes must be booked by the winners within 30 days of notification and trips will be valid until March 31, 2013.
There will be a total of five prizewinners and one Grand Prize Winner. A single prizewinner will be chosen from entries received that depict images taken during along Highway 120, Highway 140, Highway 132, Highway 49 or Highway 41. Photos submitted must designate the location taken. Photos submitted without a designated location will be disqualified.
