New Season Essentials for the 2013 Fashion Season from Next

British brand Next unveils a forward thinking women's fashion collection for SS13; mixing delicate blooms, graphic prints and structured lines. Texture is also key with lace, brocade and applique.

2013-01-03
LEICESTER, ENGLAND, January 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Feminine softness in the form of Poetic, offers delicate florals and tailoring in soft hues of cream, powder peach and mushroom with highlights of exotic pink. Cropped trousers are printed and worn with peplum tops and a must-have waterfall soft leather jacket adds a bit of romance.

Micro Optics take classic city tailoring but adds a little attitude. Cute and traditional boucle suits and jackets are mixed with graphic aztec prints and peg leg trousers in metallic, black, gold and lurex cream. Contrast collars and intricate cut out detail adds charm and softens making this collection a day to evening affair.

Zen reflects the big trends on the SS13 catwalk. It is a story of chic monochromes, electric blue and the softest of greys all in a no nonsense simple silhouette. Structured suiting, slick pencil skirts and day dresses that will wow time and time again are either on trend striped, polka dot or decorated with a graphic floral print.

Greenhouse is rich in colour using earthy tones of bottle green, rustic olive, vibrant lime and browns. Photographic prints of the great outdoors adorn sheer chiffon shirts and t-shirts. A tribal influence is definitely present with utility detailed outerwear and fine gauze knits appear well worn.

Liquid Metal combines toughen up leather biker jackets over a draped jersey silhouette. Using a colour palette of grey, deep charcoal, muted stone and cream and with prints that are a haphazard brush stroke. This story is packed with subtle adornment; sequinned trims, plated straps and lurex threads.

Fun and quirky with stripes, polka dots and animal prints, other collections also include grown up brocade in a mismatch of festival fashion; using brighter shades of coral and burnt orange, khaki and denim. Lace trimmed tops and blue denim shirts have all been roughed up slightly and are paired with printed flippy skirts and the skinniest of coloured jeans.

A similar attention to detail has been applied to the must have accessories for SS13 - a gorgeous leather laser cut tote bag, clutch bags that are perforated or printed raffia and fun and colourful retro inspired sunglasses. Shoes are printed, sheer mesh, denim detailed and colourful which will add a touch of glamour.

Bonobos will share with strangers before acquaintances

2013-01-03
DURHAM, N.C. -- You're standing in line somewhere and you decide to open a pack of gum. Do you share a piece with the coworker standing to one side of you, or with the stranger on the other? Most humans would choose the person they know first, if they shared at all. In fact, a bonobo will invite a stranger to share a snack while leaving an acquaintance watching helplessly from behind a barrier. "It seems kind ...

Knickmeyer, PhD, lead author of the study and assistant professor of psychiatry in the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
