The agreement, effective March 2013, will cover commercial barbecue food products for healthcare, and allow the purchase of commercial or commodity products for K-12 schools and universities. "Premier sets the standard for product purchasing in the healthcare industry and having its seal of approval is a very high honor for JTM," said Ms. Tracy Boggs, Director, National Healthcare Sales, for JTM Food Group. Ms. Boggs has worked closely with the Premier team since starting at JTM in 2011 to finalize the contract. "Products are judged by Premier on taste, nutrition, pricing and distribution, and JTM's commitment to quality throughout our entire organization has made this partnership possible. This contract is the largest in JTM's healthcare division and Premier is expected to purchase more than one million pounds of barbecue (pork, chicken and beef) products annually through the companies awarded this agreement in the barbecue category."

As part of the contract, JTM Food Group will join Premier's Roadshow in February 2013, traveling to 26 locations across the U.S. to sample products with Premier's customers. The roadshow is expected to attract more than 1,000 buyers, chefs and foodservice directors.
