WARWICKSHIRE, ENGLAND, January 16, 2013 (Press-News.org) X2 Computing, a leading global provider of mobile computing solutions, has launched Carbon X220M, a new tablet computer for retail and order fulfillment applications. Compatible with all Windows operating systems, it runs all commonly used business applications out of the box and provides mobile workforces with a powerful and robust computing tool that will increase productivity and performance in a wide range of retail and field service environments.
According to Francis Davis, Sales and Marketing Director of X2 Computing: "Carbon will enable retail organisations to streamline order fulfillment processes and provide a higher level of customer service. We will be fully supporting this powerful new device for a minimum of five years to ensure that it delivers a low total cost of ownership."
X2's Carbon X220M tablet is powered by an Intel Atom N2600 1.6GHz processor with up to 4GB DDR3 SDRAM and up to 128GB SSD storage. It is IP54 rated with a 10.1" widescreen LED touchscreen display and features an integrated graphics processor that delivers high quality images at up to 1200 x 800 resolution in either landscape or portrait formats. The display supports multi touch or resistive single touch.
Carbon directly connects to corporate networks using a micro HDMI Ethernet output or 802.11n Wi-Fi. Also included is a micro USB 2.0 port enabling a wide range of peripheral devices to be connected including external hard drives, keyboards, printers, scanners and mice. Front 2MP and rear-facing 5MP cameras enable users to quickly and easily integrate pictures into workforce management and order fulfillment applications.
The lithium polymer battery allows up to 12 hours use between charges, a 30% increase over the previous range of tablets. With dimensions of 325x197x27.8mm and weighing in at just 1.25kg, Carbon X220M is also slimmer and lighter making it easier to handle and use on the move. The device can also be enhanced with the addition of illuminated corporate or product branding.
X2 Computing provides a wide range of options to enhance functionality including 3G, NFC for quick and easy customer payments and RFID and GPS for security tracking applications. Custom charging solutions are also available including PowerCRATE, which simultaneously charges up to 20 devices.
