NORTHUMBLAND, ENGLAND, January 20, 2013 (Press-News.org) Classic Holidays is proud to announce its support of a unique national outreach campaign organized by Hannah's Chance Foundation designed to create awareness in the fight against an aggressive form of cancer, Sarcoma.
Working in conjunction with leading Australian coupon company Shop A Docket, the campaign involves a competition using messages on cash register receipts in major supermarkets across Australia to promote the campaign. Shoppers looking to participate are asked to visit the Hannah's Chance Foundation website at http://www.hannahschancefoundation.org.au/ and register to win the top prize of a six night holiday to Hawaii for a family of four, inclusive of flights, which has been donated by Classic Holidays.
Sarcoma is a particularly aggressive form of cancer, primarily affecting 12-25 year olds, which attacks the connective tissues or supportive tissue which includes bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels and soft tissue. Sarcomas are often misdiagnosed and are thought to be sports injuries, but once sarcomas are diagnosed, they may be too large and difficult to remove surgically and over half have metastasized.
"Sarcoma has one of the poorest survival rates of any cancer with two in five patients expected to die from sarcoma even with the best treatment," said Classic Holidays CEO Ramy Filo. "It accounts for 15-20% of all childhood cancers, so it is crucial that the message gets out about this terrible disease and we are in the fortunate position to be able to contribute to this campaign."
Hannah's Chance Foundation aims to raise valuable funds for medical research into finding a cure for sarcoma. The Foundation is also focused on helping to provide sarcoma patients and their families with comfort and support once they are diagnosed and on their journey.
The competition runs from now until the 5th April with the major prize drawn on 8th April, 2013.
