LONDON, ENGLAND, October 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) OnRelay's President and CFO, Marie Wold, was named as a finalist in the Best Entrepreneur in EMEA category in the 7th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run - worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards.
Marie Wold, co-founder of OnRelay, is among a small group of European female high tech entrepreneurs. As OnRelay's President and CFO, Marie has been responsible for fundraising and strategic partnerships since the company's inception in 2000. Marie was responsible for the successful shift towards an indirect sales model partnering with operators to promote and host the company's leading Cloud-based Mobile PBX offering.
Ivar Plahte, OnRelay CEO, comments, "I'm very happy to offer my congratulations to Marie, her drive and leadership has helped make OnRelay the global leader in Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) software. The company's recent successful deployments in Asia, Pacific, Africa, and The Middle East are largely due to Marie's continued efforts to expand our horizon beyond the boundaries of Europe."
Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.
"It was harder than ever to be recognized in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business this year," said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. "Receiving a high score from the judges this year illustrates how well many women in business are doing despite the stiff challenges they face."
OnRelay was recently named one of the hottest technology companies in the UK by the 2010 Tech Media Invest Top 100 List published by The Guardian newspaper in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kemp Little and Europe United. The listing showcases entrepreneurial companies that have the potential to radically change the shape of the technology industry.
