Angus Barn Selected as Exclusive Caterer for American Tobacco's Bay 7

Arrangement Brings Together Two Esteemed Triangle Institutions

2013-01-25
DURHAM, NC, January 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) The award-winning American Tobacco Campus in Durham today announced it has selected The Angus Barn to be the exclusive caterer and events manager for Bay 7. This unprecedented arrangement brings together two acclaimed Triangle institutions - each a world-class destination in its own right.

Bay 7 will remain exclusively a rental space for private events and will not include a restaurant. Event management and catering will be handled by the same team that runs the highly successful Pavilion at the Angus Barn.

"In the 52-year history of the Angus Barn, this is the first time we've extended our service and brand offsite," said Van Eure, owner of the Angus Barn and longtime friend of the Goodmon family, which owns American Tobacco. "We've known the Goodmons for decades, and both our families' dedication to quality, service and historical preservation make this arrangement a perfect match."

Bay 7, a 10,000-square-foot event space, can accommodate up to 400 people in an urban chic setting within a registered historic site, complete with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors and steel girders. The award-winning space has hosted countless wedding receptions, corporate meetings, fundraisers, holiday parties, trade shows, art exhibits and reunions.

"The Angus Barn is world-renowned for its food and service," said Michael Goodmon, vice president - real estate, Capitol Broadcasting. "They believe every guest should be treated like royalty, which is exactly the attitude at American Tobacco and Bay 7. We're always looking to raise the bar, and this partnership accomplishes that in a big way."

"Since we opened The Pavilions at the Angus Barn in 2008, we are very grateful that it has been so highly received in The Triangle," said Steve Thanhauser, Van's husband and co-owner of the Angus Barn. "Now we can proudly extend the same offering at the magnificent Bay 7 facility in Durham."
