Cary Family Dental and Dentistry From The Heart to Offer Free Dental Care Event on April 13th

CARY, NC, January 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) For the second consecutive year, Cary Family Dental will be partnering with Dentistry From The Heart to host a free dental care event on Saturday, April 13th. The event will be held at Cary Family Dental's office located at 1149 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As last year, Dr. Allan Acton and a team of dental professionals will provide free extractions, fillings, or cleanings. Hygienists, dental assistants and other dental professionals will also be donating their time and resources in order to provide free dental care to as many people as possible.

Last year was the first year Dr. Acton teamed with Dentistry From The Heart. Before that, his practice partnered with Cary Magazine to offer the Cary Smile Makeover, where three deserving women received a complete dental and aesthetic transformation. Dr. Acton says that although he enjoyed providing the smile makeovers, having the ability to affect more people through Dentistry From the Heart means more to him.

"Working with Dentistry From The Heart allowed me to reach out and help a tremendous amount of people who were in pain and lacked the resources needed to ensure proper oral health," said Dr. Acton. "Although we weren't providing these patients with ten thousand dollar smiles, we were able to give them the care and attention they needed that they otherwise were unable to afford. Seeing and meeting so many grateful people throughout the day was absolutely priceless."

Last year's Dentistry From The Heart event attracted over 150 patients who received $46,025 in services. With the publicity received from last year's event, Dr. Acton expects the number of people to show up for the event to rise.

"Obviously, we couldn't have accomplished what we did last year without the help of so many dentists who volunteered their time, as well as dental students, hygienists, and others who staffed the event throughout the day. I even had a school friend fly in from Colorado to participate. We're hoping to equal or best our crew this year so that we can treat as many people as possible."

In order to help defray some of the event's cost, Ruckus Pizza will be holding fundraisers at its Cary (8111 Tryon Woods Drive) and Morrisville (1101 Market Center Drive) locations from March 18-20. During both three-day events, the restaurant will donate 15% of those days' total revenue to Cary Family Dental's Dentistry From The Heart event.
