HILLSDALE, NY, January 31, 2013 (Press-News.org) World Water Day Concert - Slated For March 22, 2013

Evening of Breathtaking Music, Multi-Media Relatedness, Art & Celebrating Water

On Friday, March 22, 2013, the world will celebrate World Water Day. And in the Big Apple, there will be a World Water Day Concert just blocks from the United Nations, which created World Water Day in 1992.

A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit 501(c)3 charity Water.org, one of the world's most effective water organizations, founded by the famed actor and philanthropist Matt Damon, and the world-renowned water authority Gary White.

Quentin Fielding, an internationally acclaimed composer and concert pianist, as well as, song writer, film scorer, and actor accepted an invitation, from h2o activist, radio host, author and h2o business leader, Leslie Gabriel, to perform that evening at the St. Peter's Church, fondly known as The Jazz Church, in the heart of New York City, just minutes from the United Nations.

Aptly named 'Liquid Reflections', the World Water Day Concert will be a celebration of water, with a breathtaking mix of New Age piano music, multi-media relatedness, inspirational art & beauty. The performer Quentin Fielding and other surprise guests will take the stage for what is sure to be a memorable, festive and truly beautiful evening.

This special performance will be preceded by a cocktail reception and followed by sweets. This event will serve to celebrate the innate value of water and to recognize Water.org's important work in providing access to water and sanitation in the developing world. The intention of this event is have people love water on World Water Day and every other day throughout the year.

The impacts of the global water crisis are staggering, with nearly 780 million people, one in seven lacking access to clean water. Close to three times that many, 2.5 billion people, don't have access to a toilet. 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation and hygiene-related causes. Every 21 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness and women spend 200 million hours a day collecting water. Support for Water.org's work is needed now more than ever. Funds raised at this event will allow Water.org to continue its extraordinarily empowering work to provide access to clean water, and sanitation, to families and communities in the developing world.

"More than ever, I'm convinced that the global clean water crisis is the most pressing challenge of our lifetime and a cause that we can absolutely build a movement of support around," said Chevenee Reavis, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Water.org, from the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro. "Amidst this incredible journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro, we all personally experienced water insecurity -- many for the first time. Not having access to safe drinking water is something most never experience in the United States. But once you experience it, you realize it's the most basic element that connects us all and you can't help but want to do something about it. Whether climbing a mountain or drifting on the sound of a melody beautifully played, we can join together to create a united front for universal access to safe water."
