RALEIGH, NC, February 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality (http://www.rockytophospitality.com), has announced that The Daily Planet Cafe, the company's downtown Raleigh restaurant, will host a Valentine's Day dinner on Thursday, Feb. 14 entitled "Star-Crossed Lovers: Love Stories from the Titanic." Drawing inspiration from the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences' current Titanic exhibit, The Daily Planet Cafe's dinner has been inspired by the last meal served on the famed ocean liner. The restaurant will be transformed to recreate the ship's first-class passenger dining room, where guests can enjoy a performance featuring love story narratives that emerged from the ship. Located inside the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, The Daily Planet Cafe frequently coordinates hospitality industry events with the museum.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour of Titanic-inspired drinks including the "Iceberg Martini," "Night Sky," and "St. Germaine & Champaign." The three-course dinner will highlight a variety of dishes inspired by cuisine that would have been served onboard the Titanic. Tickets are priced at $50 per person and includes a pass to see "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition" that can be used at a later date. The exhibit will run through Sunday, April 28. Specialty cocktails will not be included in the ticket price. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.rockytophospitality.com/about/gift-cards.php.
QUOTES:
"The Titanic was the foremost luxury liner of its day, and we hope to give couples a luxurious night to remember with our Star-Crossed Lovers Valentine's dinner," said Ogan. "With a nod to the rich history of one of the world's most famous ships, we hope to take our guests back in time with a romantic dinner inspired by the last meal served aboard the Titanic."
