Release of 'Let's Play with DingDong', an App That Generates Real Percussion Sounds
2013-02-07
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, February 07, 2013 (Press-News.org) L'idee is a company that has specialized in post-production sound quality. They are releasing their musical education application called 'Let's play with DingDong-i', which is designed for children, on February 15th. L'idee was responsible for all the sound work done in many famous mass-media releases, including the animation The Taoist Mutul as well as the movies The Jackal is Coming, Blind, and Hello School Girl. L'idee is no working with anything related to sound. In this their new release of 'Let's play with DingDong', the user of the app plays percussion instruments with the cute desert fox character of DingDong and learns about music.

In 'Let's play with DingDong', the user encounters six percussion instruments which are the triangle, tambourine, castanets, symbols, a snare drum, and a large drum. Children using the app will not only learn how to play each instrument and produce their sounds, but will actually perform real songs following guidelines furnished by the app.

True to its being a company specializing in sound, they have produced the actual real sounds of the instruments by recording them rather than using midi files. The strongest point about the application 'Let's play with DingDong' is that you can experience the real sound produced by the instrument without actually having to have it.

L'idee selected 6 percussion instruments from those listed in the elementary school's happy lifestyle textbooks for the lower grades. The mentor character of DingDong plays the children's songs from out of the textbook along with the user, helping the user to understand the instrument and get used to its rhythm. 'Let's play with DingDong' is only the first project (covering percussion instruments) and a musical instrument series has been planned. L'idee plans to subsequently release apps for stringed instruments and winged instruments in succession and to also feature duets and ensembles. The app can be downloaded from either Apple's App Store or Google Play.

L'idee has made another release just before its release of 'Let's play with DingDong'. This other release is a casual game called 'Land Master' that is based on the traditional Korean game of Land Hording. The rules from the traditional game of Land Hoarding have carried over to Land Master: characters are moved three times, and if they manage to make it back to their point of origin, they acquire designated land areas, and so the game continues in an ever-expanding manner. Land Hording is available for download only from Apple's App Store.

L'idee is the successor to its former company, Sonic Boom Sound, whose creed it changed in order to form a branch of the company to work in the smart contents field. As such, they have been accelerating their expansion into the contents industry. They are taking full advantage of the experience they have gained by working with their traditional fields of sound animation and movies. They have recently been expanding their business scope to include casual games as well as applications that teach how to play musical instruments.
