LateRooms.com - See Groundbreaking Texts at Bibliotheca Artis in Madrid

Bibliotheca Artis offers attendees the chance to read the words of famous painters such as Leonardo da Vinci.

2010-10-22
MADRID, SPAIN, October 22, 2010 (Press-News.org) Anyone with an interest in art theory should be sure to check out Bibliotheca Artis - or Library of Art - while they are staying at Madrid hotels.

The display is available to view at the Museo Nacional del Prado until January 30th 2011 and features some of the biggest names in the art world from days gone by.

Among the famous figures whose contributions are included in the collection are Leonardo da Vinci, Leon Battista Alberti and Daniele Barbaro.

What makes this exhibition so special is that - as well as getting the chance to see several pieces of incredible art - visitors can learn more about how such artists felt about their profession.

There are a number of different sections within the display, with each part focusing on a distinct movement or era.

"The dissemination of Renaissance ideas in northern Europe is best represented by Durer's theoretical writings, of which an example here is the first Latin edition of his treatise On Measurement (1532)," a representative from the venue noted.

Bibliotheca Artis forms part of the Treasures from the Museo del Prado Library show, with Bibliotheca Architecturae and Bibliotheca Imaginis completing the collection.

The arts space is open every day except Monday from 09:00 to 20:00 local time.

Admission costs EUR8 (GBP7), but there are concessions available and attendees can save money by booking in advance.

For more information on this event visit the Museo Nacional del Prado website or contact the venue on +34 91 330 2800.
