National Franchise Flourishes with Specialty in Handling People's "Stuff"

Caring Transitions Fills Growing Market Demand with Transition & Relocation Solutions

2013-02-10
CINCINNATI, OH, February 10, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dealing with people's "stuff" - and all the anxiety and stress that goes along with it - has created a huge growth opportunity in the marketplace, and so far, only one national franchise has captured the space. Caring Transitions, with more than 140 locations across the nation and 50 more expected to open this year, has identified a niche as the nation's only national transition and relocation franchise that handles all aspects of a move or transition, including moving, liquidations/estate sales, de-cluttering and downsizing.

Caring Transitions helps to reduce stress and anxiety among families by providing expert guidance on all phases of transitioning including senior relocation, de-cluttering a residence, downsizing a home, preserving family heirlooms and liquidating items through estate sales or other options, among additional services tailored to the clients' needs. The company added 35 new franchise locations to its system in 2012, increasing its system-wide revenue by 48 percent. While liquidations represent the largest portion service revenues, Caring Transitions more than doubled its relocation and moving revenue in the second half of 2012.

"People are often surprised to learn that there's a company out there like Caring Transitions focused on what we do, but our growth continues to fuel awareness of both the need for our services and the solutions we provide," said Chris Seman, President of Caring Transitions. "There is growing demand for these types of services and that need is starting to become more and more apparent. We look forward to continuous prosperity as the leader in everything transitions."

For example, when an aging loved one is moving to a nursing home, Caring Transitions assists the family by taking care of the entire downsizing process; identifying items that should be kept, donated, sold or thrown out. The company handles all aspects of transition, including packing items, liquidating leftover items, coordinating the move and staging the new space, sometimes going as far as creating a room that mirrors the clients' former living space.

Additionally, Caring Transitions helps with other relocation processes, such as when a company decides to move its headquarters. When employees are too busy with work to deal with the move, Caring Transitions steps in and handles the entire process. Similar services are provided for busy parents, divorcees and other clients that don't have time for the details.

Caring Transitions was recently ranked No. 182 in Entrepreneur magazine's 34th annual Franchise 500 list. The Franchise 500 recognized Caring Transitions for the brand's exceptional performance in areas including financial strength and stability, growth rate and system size. The brand was also included in Entrepreneur magazine's 2012 Top Home-Based Franchises at No. 41.
