'Finding Sandler' Movie Reaches Kickstarter Goal; Next Challenge - Will Adam Sandler Accept Drink?

Years after a missed opportunity with hero, Adam Sandler, a determined filmmaker, David Seth Cohen, goes on a quest to recapture what could have been through this charming documentary film, FINDING SANDLER.

NEW YORK, NY, February 13, 2013

David Seth Cohen raised $36,405 through a campaign on Kickstarter.com to cover costs to edit his film, Finding Sandler. Since Kickstarter does not release funds unless the goal is met, the pressure was on to reach the $35,000 within 30 days. Now that his funding goal has been reached, next his next mission focuses on editing the 90-minute film and getting Sandler to accept the drink.

In 1998, fresh out of college, Cohen landed a gig as Wardrobe Production Assistant on the feature film, Big Daddy. Thrilled to be working with comical legend and idol, Adam Sandler, Cohen was on top of the world. One day an assignment led him to Sandler's door where he was invited in by Sandler to stay for a drink. Cohen, regretfully, said no so that he could return to his car and drive his colleague home as promised.

Years later, he had a vivid dream in which he went to Hollywood to find Adam Sandler. During the dream, he searched for what seemed like days without help or luck until the two ran into each other in the Happy Madison lunchroom. There, Sandler and Cohen walked and talked until Cohen was jolted awake. Once woken, he felt a newfound energy for that very incident was a sign to create FINDING SANDLER. The film documents Cohen's journey through travel, trial and tribulations of Finding Sandler to recapture what could have been. Well-known figures like Billy Joel, Emeril Lagasse, Mick Foley, Carmen Electra, Twisted Sister's Dee Snider, Late show with David Letterman's Paul Shaffer and NY Movie Mascot Radioman all play a part in the film, feeling Cohen's passion and inspiring him to stay persistent.

"When I first started this project in 2006, I had no clue what I was getting myself into. I will not stop until this film is complete and I hope that my journey will inspire others to continue fighting for their dreams as well. Reaching our goal on Kickstarter was a big accomplishment, but we still have a long way to go. Hopefully our campaign has gotten the attention of Adam Sandler and he comes forward to have the drink so Finding Sandler can be concluded as I had envisioned...with the anticipated, Hollywood ending." says Cohen.

Will Cohen finally get that drink with Adam Sandler? TBD.
