Trustive Signs Major "Data Offload" Contracts With Leading Mobile Operators

With 2013 set to be the year of WiFi, mobile operators are turning to WiFi operators like Trustive for innovative, seamless data offload solutions to channel the growing demand from smartphones and tablets.

2013-02-14
LONDON, ENGLAND, February 14, 2013 (Press-News.org) Various studies have highlighted the unprecedented growth in WiFi hotspot deployments in recent years and 2013 looks set to be the year of WiFi. Mobile data traffic is booming and laptops will soon be overtaken by smartphones and tablets (which have their own distinct usage patterns) in terms of number of connections at WiFi hotspots. As a leading WiFi aggregator, Trustive has witnessed this significant growth in traffic as well as the changes in usage pattern on its own international network.

Mobile operators are progressively integrating complementary network technologies, such as WiFi, into their cellular and/or broadband packages, not only for their domestic markets but more importantly for the international roaming markets. This transferral of data delivery from the traditional cellular networks onto, for example, WiFi networks, is called data offload and for the mobile operators, the main purpose of offloading data is to ease the congestion that is prevalent on many cellular networks.

For end-users, the benefits of using mobile data offloading are primarily cost control and the availability of higher bandwidth. Smart-client software installed on the end-user's device can handle the automatic and transparent session handover between the two network technologies as needed so that the service is provided seamlessly for the end-user.

In the fourth quarter of 2012 and in line with the trends highlighted above, Trustive signed major contracts with leading mobile operators in order to provide them with seamless access to selected parts of its international WiFi hotspot network via its WiFi roaming services programme.

Trustive provides proven integration tools and capabilities such as:
- Secured, scalable and flexible AAA interconnect (including data mediation, exchange and archiving), billing and settlement infrastructure
- Online web services providing network updates for dynamic and seamless user authentication
- Online web services providing detailed hotspot information for automatic updates
- 24/7 support in English and French
- More than 10 years' experience in international WiFi roaming agreements and integrations

These contracts are now in the final testing phases and full deployment will be rolled out over the next few months. For more details about Trustive's WiFi roaming services programme, please visit: http://www.trustive.com/operators/

Trustive provides travellers with comprehensive WiFi coverage by combining the hotspot locations of more than 80+ leading WiFi operators into one unified, global network of 500,000+ WiFi hotspots in 130 countries and allowing customers to access these locations through a single click.
