SRS Cinema, a Central New York based motion picture production and distribution company, in business since 1992, is among the company's leading the charge back to a format many had considered dead... VHS!Yes, VHS is back. Over the last year, many rare VHS titles have fetched into the $100's of dollars. Even some old SRS titles, under previous banners of Sub Rosa Studios and Salt City Home Video, have sold on sites like Ebay for well over $100. Now SRS has started bringing many of these older titles back, as well as unleashing never before released titles, in limited edition 50 unit VHS/DVD combo's. The titles have been a mixture of titles previously released, like "Truth or Dare" (which, re-released on Feb 1st, sold all 50 copies out within hours at prices ranging from $25-$40 a copy) and "Killing Spree"; and titles never released in any format officially, like "The Pact" and "Day of the Reaper". The profits raised from these releases not only goes towards securing more exciting VHS and DVD releases, but will help fund future productions from the prolific Syracuse based movie studio. Currently SRS is wrapping up post-production on "She Kills", which was shot 2012 and received national coverage from the hugely popular Ain't It Cool News website. In addition, SRS founder, Ron Bonk, will also be featured in two upcoming documentaries: Tony Masiello's "SOV:The True Independents" about the SOV filmmakers in the 1990s; and Thomas Edward Seymour's "VHS Massacre", about the resurgence of interest in VHS.
