TORONTO, ON, February 17, 2013 (Press-News.org) This year's climate appears to be just right for young Canadian singer-songwriter Melissa Bel. With a new single available for download February 26th, an upcoming album release and her first performance of the year to be held at Petit Campus in Montreal March 2nd, it's clear that this musician is delivering to her loyal fans what they want this year... more Melissa Bel.
Melissa will continue to impress her Montreal fans at Petit Campus by sharing the stage with acclaimed fingerstyle guitarists Stephane Tellier and Dan Livingstone. The evening will showcase a variety of material, including Bel's highly anticipated single: "All The Wrong Things". Featuring catchy lyrics, Bel's throaty, soulful vocals and lively Motown-inspired backing, "All The Wrong Things" is a uniquely perfect first track to release in 2013.
In a recent interview with Bluesmontreal.com, Bel admitted that while she has a tendency to write songs about heartache, "All The Wrong Things" has a much lighter approach. The lyrics depict a lover who tries a little too hard to impress at the expense of always falling short of expectations, bringing her coffee cold or being late for her birthday. But Melissa Bel insists that she isn't being critical. Instead the song serves an ode to all of his efforts doing: "all wrong things, but in the right way".
Canadian audiences have long been receptive to Melissa Bel's stage performances, praising her for having the raw talent and musical finesse of artists beyond her years. At 23 years old, Bel has developed a definite foothold in the Canadian music industry with two albums in the bag, a growing fan base and many headline performances alongside some of music's heavyweights, including: Ron Sexsmith, Serena Ryder, Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene) and K-OS.
"All The Wrong Things" will be available for download at most digital outlets including itunes and Amazon February 26th.
Tickets to Melissa Bel's concert at Petit Campus March 2nd can be purchased at admission.com
