Big Frog Franchisee Quickly Leaps to Success

Big Frog's concept, driven by emerging technology in fabric dyeing, is revolutionizing a multi-billion dollar industry. The franchise is a low total investment compared to other retail concepts and a cash-based business with no accounts receivable.

2010-08-22
KENDALL, FL, August 22, 2010 (Press-News.org) In 2009, after 31 years in the banking industry, Romberto Escalona became a victim of downsizing, merging and the economy. Rather than staying in banking, this former vice president in charge of operations in the Miami office saw his dismissal as an opportunity to do something new.

Escalona wanted to open his own business, but he didn't want to start from scratch. A franchise broker recommended five different businesses. After much due diligence and consideration, Escalona decided on Big Frog Custom T-Shirts.

"I chose Big Frog because of the low total investment compared to other retail concepts, and I didn't want 15 employees," said Escalona. "Big Frog only requires a few easy-to-find employees to manage the store. And, it's a great concept -- people can buy custom-printed T-shirts, without any minimums."

Big Frog offers 24-hour turnaround on custom t-shirts, puzzles, mouse pads, aprons, children's clothing and more. There are no minimums, no set-up fees, no iron-ons, no hidden fees and free logo design. The franchise is fun, simple and inexpensive with strong earnings potential and high gross margins.

"Location is key to this type of franchise," said Escalona, who opened his business in December 2009. "We're in a small shopping center with strong anchors -- three banks, a successful restaurant, a dance studio and after-school care. Our store and sign are visible from the street, which is major artery with constant traffic going back-and-forth from Kendall to downtown Miami."

The location and public visibility helped Escalona's franchise quickly achieve a high level of success. He did very little marketing and relied primarily on walk-in traffic. More than 95 percent of his customers are the result of the store's sign or his vehicle, which is wrapped and parked near the street.

"Our sales have been extremely good," Escalona said. "Within a few months, our monthly sales exceeded $20,000 and I attribute all of it to our location. Also, our customers love what we do."

Franchising only since late 2008, Big Frog already has 11 successful locations, and is offering franchises nationwide to qualified owners. An amazing feature of Big Frog is that it's recession-resistant. The business thrives even during trying economic times.

Other benefits of this easy-to-operate franchise include daylight hours 5-1/2 days a week, protected territories, low overhead and minimal inventory. Plus, the store requires a small retail space and is a cash-based business with no accounts receivables.

No industry or business ownership experience is necessary. Franchisees receive complete training, ongoing support, a proven business system and proprietary operating systems. An integral part of the training includes five days of classroom and 'real world' training at Big Frog University in Oldsmar, FL.
