New Akron Ohio Gallery Throws Opening Party for Sand & Steel Exhibit

Gallery 15 will host opening reception for Sand & Steel Exhibit March 2, 2013 (5pm - Midnight). Displaying selection of metal and glass work by Michael Marras & Lisa Demagall, two award-winning artists from Northeast Ohio.

2013-02-22
AKRON, OH, February 22, 2013 (Press-News.org) Gallery 15 will host the opening reception for the Sand & Steel Exhibit on March 2, 2013, at 5:00pm to midnight.

Gallery 15 is proud and excited to display a selection of metal and glass work by Michael Marras & Lisa Demagall, two award-winning artists from Northeast Ohio. The opening will be part of the Akron Artwalk and take place at 15 Broad Street, Akron, Ohio 44305.

The opening event includes two floors of display, artists' talks, late night music, food & drinks. Both Marras and Demagall will collaborate on an impromptu creation; a one of a kind installation of sand and steel. For a sampling of the works to be on display, visit http://www.gallery15.com.

Marras is known for his elaborate, life-size metalwork sculptures. The ideas for his works come from a deep intrigue for the possibilities of life outside our own existence. The result enables you to experience his rich imagination; sometimes primeval, sometimes fragile.

Demagall is known for her intricate and delicate glass sculptures. These silent and mutable objects become laced with the complications that life mercilessly brings. Objects laced with awareness of their own vulnerability, aware of their own impending demise.

Gallery 15 is a non-profit gallery dedicated to driving awareness and community support for the talented artists living, working and sharing in the Northeast Ohio area. The Sand & Steel exhibit marks the initial grand opening for the gallery and is sure to be a well attended celebratory event.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information on this event please call Denise Bellis at 330-379-9000 x5030. For more information about Gallery 15, visit http://www.gallery15.com.
