BOULDER, CO, February 22, 2013 (Press-News.org) Fine Featherheads, the creators of the original feather hair extension, have launched a DIY brand extension, allowing feather enthusiasts to install the product themselves for the first time. Since Fine Featherheads' grassroots 2010 launch on the West Coast music festival circuit, their sought after high-quality feather hair extensions have only been available through professional salons. Now their hallmark product is accessible to consumers everywhere in addition to their other fashion-forward hair accessories including Fly Ties, TINT Hair Chalk and Quill Clips.
Each feather hair extension includes four complementary colored feathers, bonded at the tip. The DIY Kit includes two silicone-lined micro links (to match hair color), and a loop installation tool. Pliers to close the link (the final step) are not included but are available on FineFeatherheads.com for $8.95. Available in fourteen bold colors the DIY Kits retail for $24.95.
The installation is shockingly simple; one can truly DIY in 5 minutes or less as shown in this 90-second instructional video http://bit.ly/YhpMgn. DIY Kit packaging features a QR code linking to the video. Removing the feathers are just as simple. Fine Featherheads feather hair extensions can be washed, blow-dried and curled, just like your natural hair. They can last up to six months depending on hair type and care.
"In addition to wanting to make our feather hair extensions more readily available, we've also seen consumers trending toward personalization and getting creative with their beauty products and practices," explains Fine Featherheads President and Founder Dakota Hills, "We're a fun-loving laid back lifestyle brand and we want it to be easy for featherheads everywhere to install and uninstall as they wish."
ABOUT FINE FEATHERHEADS:
Fine Featherheads was first born in early 2010 when founder Dakota Hills started selling feather hair extensions at concerts and farmer's markets throughout Boulder, CO with her sister Dana. Through her one-on-one interactions with likeminded featherheads, Dakota quickly saw the great potential of these naturally beautiful creations. She started introducing her products to salons around the country; the feathers literally sold themselves and the business was born. Fine Featherheads has now blossomed into an international business and provides feathers and other hair and fashion accessories to thousands of clients around the world, both through salons and at finefeatherheads.com.
