Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina helped with a holiday gift project for an elementary school in the Charleston, SC area on Friday December 7th 2012.

2013-02-27
CHARLESTON, SC, February 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina helped with a holiday gift project for an elementary school in the Charleston, SC area on Friday December 7th 2012. The event makes sure that every student at Chicora Elementary has a gift for Christmas. Gift bags included coats, shoes, socks, toys, school supplies, books, and many more items. This is the second year in a row that Attorney Guthrie has participated in the event. Mr. Guthrie assisted by getting the actual gift bags that the students received were in order. This involved dividing the bags up by class and lining up the student gift bags in alphabetical order. Mr. Guthrie also ordered the bags according to whether the student was a boy or girl so the student would receive an appropriate gift bag. Attorney Guthrie also helped count the numbers of different items that were to be put into the bags to make sure that there were enough to go around for everyone. Mr. Guthrie then help divide the items such as clothing by whether it was for a boy or girl and then broke down the items based on the clothing size or age designation.

Attorney Guthrie was one of many volunteers that gathered in a former furniture store that was gracious enough to provide a staging area for the assembly of the gift bags for the students. There was plenty of space to store the items that would eventually become the completed gifts. The many items including toys, clothes and supplies came courtesy of many generous individual donors and businesses. Mr. Guthrie was happy to be part of such a worthy project that would make so many elementary students happy at a time of year that may not be as happy for some children. Attorney Guthrie had fun helping with the project and looks forward to helping again in the coming year.
