The company's success is a result of unique products, aggressive online marketing strategies and a shift in the funeral industry towards custom memorials.

Une Belle Vie launched in February 2010, after the passing of the founders' son who were unable to find an urn that best memorialized him. Their goal was to provide a wide variety of traditional and artistic urns for those looking to buy a unique or custom memorial for their loved ones. The recent CNBC documentary Death: It's a Living, profiled the death care industry and discovered two main trends in the business: cremation and customization. These trends are the basis for Une Belle Vie, giving more creative and unique options to help families memorialize their loved ones.

The company reports the following 3-year business results:
• 201 percent revenue increase from 2010-2012.
• 199 percent increase in products sold.
• 92 custom urns produced.
