MIDLAND, TX, March 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) The arrival of 2013 marks a special milestone for Midland dentist David H. Orr, D.D.S., as he celebrates his 30th year as a practicing dentist.
"When I embarked upon my dentistry practice, I had no idea the impact and experiences of a lifetime the dental field would afford me," Dr. Orr, dentist in Midland, TX, says. "I have watched children grow and have their own children who come to my practice. I am grateful to the Midland community for the opportunity to play a role in their health for three decades."
Dr. Orr is an honors graduate from the University of Texas at Austin where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. He then went on to attend dental school at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston, Dental Branch. In 1979, he earned his D.D.S. degree. Three years later, Dr. Orr and his wife Janet moved to Midland. Dr. Orr has three adult children, Randy, Michael and Stephanie. The result has been a 30-year history as a Midland cosmetic dentist, caring for the community's teeth and keeping smiles healthy and bright.
Dr. Orr's practice is also home to a long-term dental staff, including practice business manager Ann who has managed the business since 1982. Dental hygienist Diann has cared for Dr. Orr's patients since her dental hygienist graduation in 1990. Chairside dental assistant Laura has been with the practice since 2008.
Throughout his time as a dentist, Dr. Orr, Midland, TX, dentist, has embraced dental innovations. This includes offering dental implants, which involve implanting a metal or ceramic "anchor" into your jawbone and installing a replacement tooth. This allows Dr. Orr to replace a missing tooth that blends in with your surrounding teeth and can last a lifetime if you properly care for your teeth. Additional specialty services offered include veneers, crowns, bridges and root canal therapy. Dr. Orr also offers Midland sleep apnea treatments, helping patients sleep and breathe better at night.
Dr. Orr practices with J.C. Whitaker, D.D.S., a Midland dentist with more than 50 years experience. Dr. Whitaker maintains a part-time practice on the afternoons of Monday through Wednesday. Dr. Orr currently sees patients Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 7 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m.
