Change Making Change Supports International Justice Mission's Stand for Freedom

CMC Fund supports college students participating in Stand for Freedom events

2013-03-03
SEATTLE, WA, March 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Change Making Change Fund, (CMC) a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children around the world through the collection of pocket change, today announced that the International Justice Mission's Stand for Freedom will be the beneficiary of general funds collected in March 2013. Other than funds designated for local coin drives, all money donated this month through convenient Coinstar kiosks to Change Making Change will support the Stand For Freedom, an event being staged at college campuses around the U.S. between March 5-15.

Stand for Freedom is a 27-hour marathon designed to raise awareness of the estimated 27 million people worldwide who are still existing in a slavery system. Locally, events are being held at the University of Washington, Pacific Lutheran University, Seattle Pacific University, Gonzaga University and Washington State University.

"Stand for Freedom is a grassroots effort to support the end of slavery and human trafficking," noted Rich Stillman, founder and executive director, Change Making Change. "It's great to see our future leaders taking an interest in social justice, and we are happy to promote their efforts. We have been a long-time supporter of the International Justice Mission and its work."

To participate, simply drop spare change at a local Coinstar kiosk that is programmed to accept donations and select Change Making Change Fund as the recipient.

Change Making Change partners with US and international charities such as the International Justice Mission and supports one each month on a rotating basis.
