PEARLAND, TX, March 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) Get ready to laugh, clap and cheer for the ladies in 9 to 5: The Musical, as presented by the Pearland Theatre Guild, March 22-April 7, 2013, at the Pearl Theater. With music and lyrics by the incomparable Dolly Parton, 9 to 5: The Musical is a crowd-pleasing hilarious romp about teaming up, getting credit and getting even with the boss. And who hasn't mused about that?
Based on the 20th Century Fox movie, 9 to 5: The Musical follows three unlikely friends in the late 1970s; Violet Newstead, an uptight office manager; Judy Bernly, a recent divorcee; and Doralee Rhodes, a sexy married secretary, as they turn the tables on their "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, bigot" of a boss, Franklin Hart, Jr.
"It's more than just three woman moving up in the working world - it's about how they motivate each other and identify with their struggles and successes!," said 9 to 5 director/choreographer Nathan C. Hand. "Dolly Parton's score is irresistible, the choreography is worthy of Broadway, and our cast is a group of strong performers and solid singers! Don't miss this production!"
Advanced ticket purchases and reservations are strongly suggested. Performances will be on Friday & Saturday, March 22-April 7, at 8:00 p.m. (no show on Easter Sunday). Matinee performances are on Sunday, March 24 & April 7 at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 6 at 3:00 p.m. Buy One, Get One Free Night is Thursday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. Parental guidance suggested (adult content, language).

As produced by the Pearland Theatre Guild, 9 to 5 stars: Jenny Taylor Moodie and Donna Dagley as Violet Newstead; Andrea Mashman plays Doralee Rhodes; and alternating in the role of Judy Bernly is Whitney Zangarine and Monique Von Deylen. Brandon del Castillo co-stars as Franklin Hart, Jr. and Matt Schell is Joe. Melissa Zilembo and Rae Lynn Cuddihy alternate in the role of Roz Keith.
