LateRooms.com - Bournemouth to Welcome Al Murray the Pub Landlord

Al Murray the Pub Landlord is bringing his latest tour Barrel of Fun to Bournemouth on November 21st.

2010-10-24
BOURNEMOUTH, ENGLAND, October 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) People looking for a good laugh while staying in Bournemouth hotels may be interested in Barrel of Fun, the new show from Al Murray the Pub Landlord.

The comic creation, famous for his bar-room banter and stereotypical dislike of anything he deems "un-British", is due to arrive on the south coast on Sunday November 21st.

Barrel of Fun is Murray's latest stand-up tour, which began in Cardiff earlier this month and will visit venues around the UK throughout November.

The Bournemouth date is due to take place at the BIC Windsor Hall, with tickets priced at GBP25.

Al Murray's official website describes the cheery publican's favourite colours as "red, white and blue" and his first love as "lager".

Speaking to the Bristol Evening Post earlier this month, the Oxford-educated comedian behind the persona admitted some members of his audience seem unaware the character is meant to poke fun at nationalist and xenophobic attitudes.

Murray, who developed his famous character while touring in support of Harry Hill, said this does not affect his act.

"I don't worry about whether people get the irony or not. I simply don't care. The irony is one of the jokes, but there are other jokes there," he told the newspaper.

For more information on this event, visit the BIC website or contact the organisers on 0844 576 3000.

LateRooms.com recommends a variety of accommodation in Bournemouth, including the Royal Bath Hotel Bournemouth.
